I’m Not Mad; I’m Just Saying: S.C. Senator Jake Knotts

To be honest, I wasn’t planning on doing another one of these blogs for about another week.  However, I have learned to not only expected the unexpected, but never underestimate the power of hate as it pertains to the Republican Party.

Which brings us to the subject of said blog; South Carolina Republican  Senator Jake Knotts. Senator Knotts recently went on an internet radio show. When asked about fellow Republican Nikki Haley he said: “ We already got one raghead in the White House, We don’t need another in the Governor’s Mansion.”

Wow! Talk about nailing two birds with one racist stone. Not only did he nail a potential political constituent, but he also implied our Commander in Chief. How could he try and get away with making such statements?

He states, “Bear in mind that this is a freewheeling, anything-goes Internet radio show that is broadcast from a pub. It’s like local political version of ‘Saturday Night Live.’”

Ok, I get it. Since in your own mind, Mr. Senator, it was not on a “distinguished ” political forum….you feel it is like open mic night at your local KKK meeting.

Hell, I got an even better idea. Why don’t you call up Lorne Micheals himself and suggest that you and Glenn Beck co-host Saturday Night Live. You two can abuse the 1st Amendment and look like douchebags for 90 straight minutes.

In fact, for your musical act….invite Fmr. Senator Larry Craig and his fellow singers from the a cappella group Edios. That way, they can sing Bible Hymns in order to make their willing audience believe that it is OK to be racist because you’re Christian.

In closing, he did offer a public apology. Well, sort of. He was then quoted as saying, “I still believe Ms. Haley is pretending to be someone she is not, much as Obama did, but I apologize to both for an unintended slur.”
